My Action research plan has come to fruition and I thought it would never happen but perseverance was my ally. Even though, I wasn’t sure if it was going to be achieved because their were several barriers in my path. Funding, board member unwilling to see the benefits of technology for our students, and teachers apprehensions towards learning and implementing technology in their class. Once I presented my proposal and my findings on the benefits of technology for students with Autisms, the CEO of my school shared the information to the board members. Some of the board member were still resented to the idea but she insisted the board agree with her and my findings about the importance of technology. After the board meeting the decision was made to purchase some of the technological equipment. As for the rest of the technology we received monetary donations, which allowed us to buy three SMART boards for our academic classes. I was extremely proud to see my hard work being achieve and those teachers that were apprehensive about using the technology have seem a difference in their students’ behavior and academic achievement. This was a true labor of love but it was worth it. I can see the benefits of having the SMART boards within our class. The teachers sated, 'how they had less behavior problems in the classes and the students are more engaged within their lessons.' It was great to hear that and to see the looks on our students’ faces. Changing peoples perception about technology not being beneficial to students with Autism was the biggest challenge I faced but I was able to accomplish the feat with evidence and persistence.
Happy Dance! My plan has been accomplished and it can only continue to grow.

Tech World has Arrived
It's been a while since my last posting but it has been a busy year. My technology plan has finally come to fruition. My proposal brought forth the opportunity for technology to a benefit my campus and our students. We received monetary donations, which allowed us to purchase three SMART boards for our academic classes. My school is a private institution for young child to adults diagnosed with Autism spectrum disorder. As for the rest of the technology program we purchased ELMOS and Mobi view.
Since the SMART board arrived in the classrooms, our students since to be more engaged in their lessons and there are less behavioral issues according to their teachers. One of the teachers was a little apprehensive about using the SMART boards, so she attended several trainings to help her get over the fear of not being capable working with this new technology. She has admitted that having this tool in her class has changed her approach to teaching her students. The SMART boards are interactive therefore it allows her students to be an active participant rather than a passive one. It's wonderful to see how engaged our students are with this new technology.
Technology is an excellent tool for all students.
