Reflection

During the research process, I've learned it's more important to have a practical research plan, rather than theoretical plan because you need to be able to apply it into real situations within your environment.  (Dr.  Kirk Lewis)   I believe my action research plan is practical and important because every child needs the ability to communicate their wants and desires, along with being able to accomplish a new task.  By purchasing software programs conducive to Autistic students' instructional needs in order to advance their academic achievement.  It's truly important for me to give these students a voice.   As I reflect upon the time and effort that my research plan may entail, I believe it's worth the work.

  1. I believe that Autistic students need all the instructional help that is needed to further advance as an individual and as a student. Not many students are treated equal and are left out from the world. They are human beings and they need the same attention, instruction, and have their own voice heard just like everyone else.

  2. This is one of the most important plans I have read about so far! I went to an ARD yesterday for a student with Autism and while he was waiting on us to finish he was starting to get really worked up. I asked his mom if I could show him some APPS on my phone to play with and once he got over the fact that this stranger was talking to him-he loved it! He was lauging and really enjoying the games. (I did have to upset him a little when I had to get me phone back though:(
The diag. is requesting technology training as part of his requirements on special education classes. It will also allow the teachers and parent to take part in the training free. GoodLuck with your project. It is going to have such a positive impact on the students involved!
